The Enviromiser EV/ES Series units (shown below) offer an Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM) Fan Motor.  This fan motor provides field proven-efficiency and reliability and makes it possible to bring increased energy savings and precision speed control to the FHP heat pump.  This motor is 20 – 30% more efficient than a standard motor, provides constant airflow to enable the greatest level of performance and comfort, and features a “soft start” that eliminates the abrupt change in sound when the unit cycles on or off.
