PROFOAM™ Insulation

Virginia Geothermal Supply, Inc. now has the capability of providing our customers with PROFOAM™ insulation to enhance their geothermal systems.

This foam insulation system meets Class One building requirements and offers many remarkable features. Aside from offering the highest R-value per square inch, PROFOAM™ has a closed cell structure making it moisture resistant.

PROFOAM™ is a spray insulation that allows for penetration in tighter spaces providing a barrier to gasses, fumes and insect penetration. Its installation provides a seamless form effectively displacing out of any cavity the indoor and outdoor climates.

How does PROFOAM™ work?

It achieves necessary climate isolation by its nature as a solid closed cellular plastic which is fully adhered in the thin space of a building cavity.

Does PROFOAM™ need venting like conventional fibrous insulation?

No. Venting was designed to carry moisture out of conventional fibrous insulation. The cell structure of PROFOAM™ prevents air flow through or into it.

Does PROFOAM™ contain any harmful substances?

No. It is made of resins similar to popular polyurethane varnishes for wood and DOES NOT contain formaldehyde.

When can PROFOAM™ be installed?

It is applied before the sheet rock is put in place, but after the plumbers & electricians have completed their rough-in work. The spray creates a bedding around pipes and seals any penetrations in and through the exterior walls.

Thermal Conductivity Testing

We have the equipment and resources to provide Thermal Conductivity Testing for our clients' upcoming projects. This testing allows our customers to have a better understanding of the requirements and expectations of the systems they are about to install. Engineering & Design

We have affiliations with LEED certifified engineering who are licensed in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. These affiliates allow us to provide our customers and other industry affiliates with a wealth of engineering and design knowledge.

We also have alliances with IGSHPA accredited installers who can provide and install your system in a professional and accurate manner.
